Big Girl Bed

Lately, the Little Monster hasn't been sleeping well in her crib. She screams and cries and won't go to sleep unless we take her out and put her back in after she's sleeping. So, on Friday (her 18 mos birthday), we headed over to Target and picked up a new toddler bed for her.

We got lucky and it was on sale for $60 (orig. $80). It was the last one that they had left at the store, too! (Well, they had it in natural wood, but this was the last white one).

After dinner, Daddy got started setting it up. The directions were a little wonky and he ended up having to re-do it, but it came out so nicely! The bed itself is only a few inches off the floor and M has no problem climbing in and out of it. I've heard a lot of people say transitioning to a toddler bed was really hard, but she loves it! She sleeps through the night (she has been crying at 2:30am the last 2 nights, but I think it's because she's teething. She's not actually awake when she cries) and wakes up happy.

I'm also pleasantly surprised that she puts herself to bed! She'll watch a little tv or play for a few minutes and then when she gets tired (on time, too), she climbs into bed and falls asleep.

  1. Congrats! That bed is adorable AND a great deal! I had heard that transitioning to a toddler bed was hard too but it was a breeze for us as well and I've been sleeping happily (as has ny little guy) for several months now. I hope you enjoy the same!

  2. Adorable!!! And I love the bedding. I am thinking of an owl nursery for our next baby. :0)
