17 June 2009

Lately, I've been feeling a little cut off from the rest of the world. It feels like all I do is work and clean. And what do I have to show from it? A house that still looks like a tornado blew through it. No matter how much I clean, there still seems to be the same amount of filth that was there before I cleaned and after waking up sometime between 4:30 and 7:00 & working from 8:30 to 4:30, I just don't have the will power to keep at it. I wish I could afford to pay someone to come clean my house even if it's just once or twice a month. Thank god we're moving soon - that is, if we can find some place that's not a hole in the wall... otherwise, we might be living in a box in the park.

To top it all off, I don't even remember the last time I saw.... or even spoke to any of my friends from school. Alright, maybe I'm exaggerating, but most of them are on summer break from school and go back in the fall... whereas I'm working full time and have little extra time on my hands. I think the thing I miss most about college is having my friends near me all the time. I think it's worse because I rarely see anyone since I've been working from home for the last few months. I tried to see if I could find a playgroup or a group for baby & mommy in our area, but I've had no luck. I would love to find another couple of mom's with kids around M's age that we could spend time with.

Speaking of M, she's been doing really well. She's routinely eating Stage 1 fruits & veggies once or twice a day now. I even got her to eat some peas today. She also started sitting up unsupported last week - it started out only being able to sit up for a second or two, but now she can sit up just fine as long as she doesn't lean to one of the sides (though she can lean forward pretty well). It makes me a little nervous when she's on the couch in her boppy now, though, because she tends to wiggle a lot and almost rolls off the couch. So, I try to keep her in her exersaucer or her pack n play. I'm starting to make her take her naps in her crib now, too. Hopefully that will be her permanent sleeping place soon.
